Come rain or snow, extreme heat or cold or heat, it doesn’t matter much to Denis. This 10-year-old Inuit boy will still be outside.
Denis has lived in a group home in Montreal for the last year but is ready to move on. He is looking for a foster home—either in the North or in the Montreal area.
He loves to roam and explore wooded areas and creeks, to fish and search for bugs and snakes, some of which he manages to sneak into the house in his pockets.
Denis came to Montreal to receive therapeutic intervention because he has experienced many years of emotional and social deprivation. He loves to learn, but still needs input to understand when he might put himself in danger. He is friendly and sociable, well-liked and very engaging.
He needs a patient and loving foster family with two parents who can share the caretaking and where he will be the youngest child. It should be an Inuit or Native family or one with an understanding of his culture and lifestyle. The length of placement will be one year but it could become long-term.
