Nemaska recently staged a mini-basketball tournament from November 27-30 with the help of the sponsorship of the Cree School Board.
The tournament was successful and fun was had by all.
There were six teams entered in the boy’s category, ranging in age from 11-14. On the girl’s side, there were eight teams from the Cree communities, with Eastmain being the only community absent.
Nemaska defeated Ouje-Bougoumou in the boy’s final, 32-13. In the consolation round, Wemindji went down to Chisasibi, 33-15.
Over on the girl’s side, Waskaganish demolished Wemindji, 36-10. The consolation round was won by Nemaska over Mistissini, 21-6
