A Mistissini man has been charged with sexually assaulting a minor in an incident that allegedly took place April 29 at km 391 on the Route 167 Nord, near the Metawashish River.
Mistissini resident Daniel Beauclaire, 36, will face one count of “inviting, counseling or inciting a person under the age of 14 to sexually touch [the accused], thereby committing the indictable offence provided by section 152 of the Criminal Code,” according to the Provincial Crown prosecutor in Roberval, Michel Boissonneault. “The second count, under section 151 of the Criminal Code – [the accused] did, for a sexual purpose, touch a part of the body of a person under the age of 14.” Beauclaire is to appear in Roberval court on May 27 to request a release from custody, under certain conditions. One of these conditions would include staying away from the community.
