Crees are jumping into the U.S.-Canada trade dispute over softwood lumber with an ad in the influential Roll Call newspaper.
“Wholesale export of Quebec’s forests into the U.S. market is destroying our Indian way of life,” says a headline in the full-page ad, which appeared this week. The ad says Quebec cuts too much and excessively subsidizes forestry.
