A group of Mistissini Crees who lost money in the bankruptcy of a Chibougamau furniture store, Meubles Économiques, are going to small-claims court.
The claimants made advance payments to the store toward the purchase of furniture. They want to recover about $2,500 lost when the company went bankrupt last month.
Mistissini lawyer Guy Prud’homme said he’s trying to locate any other Crees who lost money and would like to join the claim.
