Please accept our apologies concerning the article “Cree to play for Montreal Canadiens,” volume 3, no. 5, which said that the hockey game was supposed to be televised on RDS Feb. 11 th.
The reason for not broadcasting the game had to do with an outstanding invoice ($ 15,000) which the television company still owed to the Colisée de Québec, and this, from way back during the time of the Quebec Nordiques!!! So, when they knocked at the door of the Colisée on Saturday, Feb. 10, they were kept “out in the cold” and told they could come in once their bill is paid!!! With the result that they only started broadcasting games on Wednesday, Feb. 14th (as if children—pee-wee—care about adults’ conflicts, invoices and politics!!!)
Anyway, the experience was indeed unique and filled with memories. We want to thank the population of Chisasibi for their emotional support… which we brought with us to the tournament. And we were proud to show our big banner which said: HELLO CHISASIBI, JAMES BAY!
Thank you.

P.S. For anyone interested in seeing the games they played, we brought back video tapes from the Colisée. You may contact us.
