By the time you read this it will be over, but three Crees biked from Radisson toNemaska. Redfern Cheezo, Eric Cheezo and Andrew Menarick Tent took the scenic routewith stops in Chisasibi, Wemindji and Eastmain. Even though it’s a little early forsnow, the three are hoping to raise enough money to participate in the 1998-99 Raid desBraves race. Not only are they trying to fund themselves through the bikeathon, butthey’ve pledged 10 per cent of the total amount raised through the trek to theCree Diabetes Education Program. The expected money to be raised through themarathon is about $10,000. They’ve already committed $1,000 to the diabetes program.At press time, Neeposh said that they had recieved about 15 per cent of the pledges.He thanks all those people who have been so generous and promises to give us an updatelater.
