A tragic accident on a private road off Highway 113 took the life of a 12-year-old Waswanipi on March 3.
The boy was with two other children on a sled being pulled by a snowmobile. The sled was hit by a non-Native man driving a Jeep Cherokee with a plow mounted in front.
A Cree girl on the sled was also injured, but the third child was okay.
The accident took place on a sideroad 70 kilometres southwest of Waswanipi, and 45 km east of Lebel-sur-Quévillon.
The driver was arrested by the Sûreté du Québec. The investigation is continuing and no charges have been laid yet.
