News from the front lines of hockeydom. Our boys on the Bantam CC Cree Nation Bears brought home a first-place victory from a tournament in LaSarre February 6 to 9.
The Bears powered over Ville Marie in the final game with a 3-1 win. In previous games, they beat Val d’Or 7-3, Timmins 9-0 and lost to Ville Marie 7-2. In action earlier this season, the Bears also won in a tournament in St. Bruno-de-Guigues.
Excellent playing by Reginald Gilpin won him two MVP Awards from these two tournaments. Lance Blacksmith won the Best Defense award in the St. Bruno tourney. Congratulations to all the players and team staff on an excellent first season so far! The team will be playing at another tournament in Buckingham (Hull) Feb. 28 to March 2. Go Bears.
