The Cree Youth Business Symposium is going to be held October 25-27 at the Hotel Forestel in Val-d’Or for the first time.
According to Jeremy Diamond, the Communications Officer for the Cree Nation Youth Council (CNYC), the idea behind it is to build up the business leaders of today and the future within the Cree Nation. The CNYC wants to promote youth entrepreneurship through this event.
“We attended the young entrepreneurs’ symposium that was organized by the Dream Catcher Charitable Organization in Vancouver. It totally blew us away and was so life-changing for all of the young people there and so we got the idea from that,” said Diamond.
The event that the CNYC is planning will serve as a symposium as well as a business contest where youth will participate in challenges to formulate different business strategies for sales, marketing, investing and other related issues that entrepreneurs face. According to Diamond, this is an event for youth in business and also youth aspiring for entrepreneurial careers.
“This event is really about inspiring the young people,” said Diamond.
All those interested in attending should inquire within their local youth departments to find out more about attending the event.
