In a historic move, the Grand Council’s Romeo Saganash has thrown his name in the ring as a New Democratic Party candidate for the Abitibi-Baie-James-Nunavik-Eeyou riding.
According to the Montreal Gazette, while Saganash recognizes that it will be a huge challenge for him to venture into a new political arena, but he believes a win is possible.
Saganash will be attempting to oust Bloc Québécois MP Yvon Lévesque who has held the riding since 2004.
