Edith Cloutier to head UQAT board

Edith Cloutier, the Director at the Native Friendship Centre in Val d’Or, can add another title to her name: President.

Cloutier, who has a degree in accounting from the Université de Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue, was named president of the UQAT Board of Administration on September 27.

She has worked tirelessly in promoting the rights of Native people in Val d’Or and breaking down stereotypes amongst the general population.

Each year, Cloutier and the Native Friendship Centre organize a day where Val d’Or residents are encouraged to end racism and discrimination against Aboriginals.
