The former Canadian army corporal whose face was seen in living rooms across the country during the Oka crisis has been sentenced to six months in prison.

Patrick Cloutier was found guilty last December of causing bodily harm while driving under the influence of alcohol and leaving the scene of an accident. He was a young private when he became a hero to some Canadians after a photo was taken of him staring at a Mohawk Warrior. He got a promotion, but two years later was demoted after admitting to using cocaine. He was dismissed from the military after being found guilty of the drunk driving charge.
