The new Nunavik Technical-Vocational Education Centre celebrates its official opening on March 20 in Inukjuak.

The NTVC is one of the largest structures in Nunavik and one of the most advanced schools of its kind in Quebec. Developed by the Kativik School Board to help provide a skilled workforce in Nunavik, the $18.5-million Centre uses the latest technology and equipment to teach everything from light trades to heavy-industry trades. It is open to high school students who have completed their Secondary IV or V, as well as adults.

The Centre has a residence, and 63 students are currently enrolled in five courses (including heavy vehicle mechanics and boat navigation).
