There are now three “newspapers” serving the Cree nation.

The Grand Council of the Crees have launched a publication they can call their own. Eeyou Eenou Nation was released at the Council/Board meeting in Montreal on Decber 20th. The entire issue is devoted to the Agreement in Principle.

Their first issue has an interview with Grand Chief Ted Moses and an excerpt of a letter from Billy Diamond to the Nation.

There was some confusion at the Grand Council office about the new magazine when someone asked the editor about the “facelift” of the Nation.

“I felt like they’re trying to cash in on our years of hard work and reputation when one of the chiefs asked me where he could get a copy,” said Editor in Chief of the Nation William Nicholls, “He seemed to think it was our work and that could be a problem.” The magazine hails itself as “The Voice of the People” and is styled as a newsmagazine with interviews, photos and news type pieces on the major proagreement players in the Cree world following the October 23 signing of the Agreement in Principle.

Beat the rush for it and pick it up at your local band office.
