Thirty-six days after the tragic boat accident that claimed eight lives near Moose Factory, the search ended with the finding of Johnny Namagoose’s body.
It was recovered on November 5 at around 9:15 a.m. “Our prayers have been answered,” said the Moose Factory search and rescue services in a press release.
Norm Wesley, coordinator of the search, had said his community would search until they recovered everyone.
The press release said there were no words to express the gratitude for the searchers’ determination and commitment. It said the search effort was a testament to giving and sharing one another’s burdens.
“We ask that everyone give thanks and that you continue to offer healing and comfort to the members of the families, especially the Namagoose and Katapaytuk families.”
