Letter to The Nation:

On December 18, 1995, at the Staffs Annual Christmas Party, we received a Role Model Citizen Certificate. This certificate has lifted our spirits, touched our hearts and also was a big inspiration in our lives.

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank Chief Abel, councillors and the people of the Ouje-Bougoumou First Nations for recognizing us as Role Model Citizens. We respectfully suggest that the Chief and council in other Cree communities consider recognizing Model Citizens because this recognition has given us a spark to continue walking on the recovery road.

We’d also like to thank the Cree Health Board for their financial support. Continue to support couples. We also give thanks to the Creator because he makes all things possible.

Recovery is not a place, a destination to be reached. It is a journey… a journey of hope and healing and peace.

In friendship,

Raymond & Judy Capissisit Ouje-Bougoumou, Qc.
